What paints demand

Key Performance Requirements

Paint pigments must perform consistently across every batch, survive years of outdoor exposure, and disperse cleanly in both waterborne and solventborne systems without flooding or flocculation.

High colour strength

Strong tinting power reduces pigment loading and formulation cost. Critical in tinting-base systems where small volumes of pigment concentrate must colour large quantities of base paint precisely.

Light & weather fastness

Exterior architectural and industrial paints face years of UV, rain, and thermal cycling. ISO 7 or higher ratings are required to prevent fading and chalking over the product's service life.

Consistent dispersion

Poorly dispersed pigments cause flooding, floating, and gloss reduction. Pigments must grind uniformly and remain stable through the let-down without reagglomeration or shade drift.

Paint system compatibility

The same pigment grade must perform in multiple binder systems — acrylic emulsion, alkyd, polyurethane, and epoxy. Confirm with our technical team for your specific paint formulation.

Product forms

Forms Available

Three product forms are available for paints — dry powder for milling operations, and ready-to-use aqueous and solvent dispersions for direct let-down into your paint system.

Powder pigment

Powder

Dry pigment for incorporation via high-speed disperser or bead mill. Standard for large-volume paint production and tinting concentrate manufacture.

Typical loading5–30% in grind base
Best forDecorative & industrial paints
Packaging25 kg bags
Shelf life2 years
Water-based dispersion

Dispersion — Water-Based

Pre-dispersed aqueous pigment concentrate. Directly compatible with waterborne emulsion and acrylic paint systems — no additional milling required.

Typical loading2–10% in base paint
Best forWaterborne emulsions, acrylic
Packaging20 L pails / 200 L drums
Shelf life12 months
Solvent-based dispersion

Dispersion — Solvent-Based

Pre-dispersed solventborne concentrate for alkyd, polyurethane, and epoxy paint systems. Optimised for solvent compatibility and long-term stability.

Typical loading2–8% in base paint
Best forAlkyd, PU, epoxy systems
Packaging20 L pails / 200 L drums
Shelf life12 months
Pigment suitability depends on the paint system and exposure conditions. Contact our technical team to confirm the appropriate grade and form before finalising your formulation.
