What coatings demand

Key Performance Requirements

Industrial coatings face harsher environments than decorative paints — chemical exposure, salt spray, high curing temperatures, and mechanical abrasion. Pigments must not compromise the protective function of the coating film.

Chemical & corrosion resistance

Protective coatings are exposed to acids, alkalis, solvents, and salt spray. Pigments must not dissolve, react, or migrate in these environments — or compromise the coating's barrier properties.

UV & weather durability

Exterior industrial and automotive coatings need ISO 7–8 lightfastness to maintain colour and gloss over years of UV exposure, temperature cycling, and weathering without chalking or fading.

High-bake & powder coating stability

Powder coatings cure at 160–200 °C. Pigments must be thermally stable through the bake cycle without shade shift, yellowing, or decomposition. Phthalocyanines and PV23 are particularly well suited.

Gloss retention & dispersion

Industrial coatings require fine, consistent pigment dispersion to achieve target gloss levels and film uniformity. Poor dispersion causes micro-roughness, reduced gloss, and non-uniform appearance.

Product forms

Forms Available

Three product forms are available for coatings — dry powder for milling operations and powder coating manufacture, and ready-to-use aqueous and solvent dispersions for liquid coating systems.
